MADURAI : 2006.08.25

We didn’t want to throw away the flower garlands we recieived last day as a token of respect, so we hanged then on the rickshaw. The band playing at todays start was playing terribly loud : VIDEO

Last day we were completely exhausted so didn’t manage to see the great temple of Madurai. This temple is the largest, and could be the symbol of south India, so we just had to see it. After the start we made a detour and went into the town to visit the temple. It was well worth it. It wasn’t huge, it was enormous. It was a complex biult of several temples.

Allthough it wasn’t easy to find our way out of the city, we had to hurry. We even got a minor scratch somwhere int he busy trafic in a narrow street. People were very friendly :

We had to huury, because we didn’t want to miss the boat trip.
